Rear Storefront was a Bushwick storefront space founded by Daniele Frazier and Trenton Duerksen who ran it as a studio and exhibition venue from 2015 through 2017. The programming focused on the work of Frazier and Duerksen’s friends and family while creating a space that welcomed all generations of the local community into the gallery. Rear Storefront hosted workshops and participated in the annual block party, but became most well-known for their exhibition titled Number Two, which turned the gallery into a thrift store that sold donated bric-a-brac and leftover byproducts, such as failed artworks, of the studio practices of dozens of contributing artists.
